Abstract

The convergence of the scientific, educational and business sectors requires the search for new models and tools for the transfer of technology from the university environment to the work of enterprises in the real sector of the economy. On the example of the Catholic University of Leuven, approaches to the commercialization of the results of the intellectual activity of universities abroad are considered. It is shown that the active development of its own technology transfer center, which implements, among other things, initiatives in the field of mergers and acquisitions, has allowed KU Leuven to achieve outstanding results in creating its own innovation environment and take leading positions in the global rankings of world universities. The results obtained can be successfully transferred to the practice of Russian universities.
